Evil Movie Reviews is a brand new site, and we want you the reader to have the opportunity to get to know us better.  So we’re counting down our own top 10 best indie horror movies of all time!

Coming in at #10 on our list is Secuestrados (Kidnapped) (2010). A Spanish psychological horror film – Director Miguel Ángel Vivas shows us his take on an old favorite – the home invasion thriller. When three masked criminals burst into a wealthy family’s home and force Dad to empty out the entirety of his bank accounts, the results are fairly bloody.  This film will mess with your mind, and leave you on the edge of your seat. There is a fair amount of gore – but the psychological suspense rules this movie.

#9 is none other than William Lustig’s Maniac. This movie is a classic in the extreme horror genre, and is generally regarded to be a must-have in the collections of anygore-film hound. With mannequins, throat slashings, and weird guys from New York City with psychological issues, this film was critically acclaimed when it came out back in 1980. If you haven’t seen this yet, you’re missing out.. Go get it!

#8  … Murder Set Pieces is a 2004 Nick Palumbo masterpiece that is on this list simply because I have to give the guy props – he definitely knows how to make an effective gory movie. Take a large helping of porn stars (with violent and uncensored sexual violation included) … add to that 1 part German photographer/neo-nazi .. Add 2 parts young girl and her friend … and a baby .. And stick Gunnar Hansen and Edwin Neal of Texas Chainsaw Massacre fame in, along with Edwin Neal, Tony Todd (Candyman), and the entire Toe Tag pictures special effects crew, and you’ve got yourself one hell of a horror movie. Just avoid the Lion’s Gate version of the film –  It was edited to give it a better rating, and the resulting choppiness makes that version of the movie almost completely unwatchable.
